Lewis Roberts Binford

Lewis Roberts Binford was born in Norfolk (U.S.A) on 1931. When he was child he was  interested in animals, and after finishing high school he studied wildlife biology. Previously a mediocre student, Binford excelled in college and considered pursuing an academic career in biology. But was during his time in the military that Binford first became interested in anthropology and archaeology.
Today Lewis Binford is known for his influential work in archaeological theory, ethnoarchaeology and the Paleolithic period. He is considered the most influential archaeologists of the later 20th century and among his best works is the change of the field with the introduction of processual archaeology or the New Archaeology in the 1960. I love the work of Binford because the processual archeology intended to rebuild completely the cultural processes of the human and for do this, it uses rigorously the scientific method and other auxiliary sciences. Lewis Binford try to transform the archeology into a  scientific discipline.

Eternal life to Binford!!!! (unfortunately he died last year)
